Task 1 Adjectives 1 point
A. To make your writing more interesting, try not to use the same adjectives.
Build up a range of different adjectives that you can use to describe something
really effectively. For example, instead of using ‘small’ you could use:
tiny little minute miniature petite teeny
microscopic pocket-sized short slight modest

B. Underline the adjectives in these sentences.
1. We looked out of the tiny window and saw a fabulous view of the beautiful lake.
2. Lucky Mr Smith has won a new car in the weekly raffle.
3. It was a cold, wintery day and the sky was grey and cloudy.
4. I saw a huge, black, hairy spider crawl under my wooden table.
5. Fred’s old barn is dark and spooky but Joe’s old barn is darker and spookier.
