Target 1: Prefixes
A prefix is a group of letters that come at the beginning of a word. They
do not change the spelling of that word – they just add on at the front of
the word.
Some common prefixes are:-
anti- at- be- co- con- de-
dis- ex- in- mis- non- per-
pro- pre- re- sub- un- under-
We can often work out the meaning of a word if we know the meaning of
the prefix.
re- often means again
anti- often means against co- often means together
ex- often means away from
un-, dis-, and non- often
mean the opposite
mis- often means badly or
wrongly pre- often means before or in front
Spell these words:-
antidote coexist untidy prepare misbehave
exclaim nonsense refill disagree misplace
