A. (1 point) Some examples of suitable adjectives are added in italics below.
Other sensible answers can be allowed. Remember that the paragraph should
build up tension.

Harry was hiking in a wood when a (heavy/ thunderous/ loud/ tropical) storm

began. He saw a (tiny/ enormous/ big/ dark/ gloomy) cave where he could
shelter. He (nervously/ cautiously/ quickly/ fearfully/ anxiously) went into the
cave to wait for the storm to end. He could hear a (strange/ loud/ scary/

spooky/ frightening) noise in the cave and (slowly/ quickly/ nervously/
cautiously) turned around to see what it could be.


B. Award up to 2 points for the story ending. For full marks, at least FOUR
adverbs and FOUR adjectives should have been used to add detail and build
